The bell & yolk shapes of our satchel create an attractive silhouette. With six pleats on each side, and roomy interior compartments, use it as a work bag, carry-on bag for travel or as an everyday bag to get you around town. Each bag is unique, textile placement will vary.  The inside has 2 open pockets, 1 zip pocket & key fob.  The fabric is handcrafted African wax-print textile. The purse has a 100% organic cotton canvas support with Hemp herringbone trim.  Measures approximately  21” x 15” x 4”.  Handmade fabric from artisans in South Africa, who are part of a fair trade organization.  Color: Pink and Yellow

    I was initially concerned about wearing this bag daily because I'm a cross-body gal myself. With two little ones to be running after, having my hands free is important. But the textiles, design, and the fact that it's handmade and fairly traded sold me and I was willing to buy it and wear it occasionally if necessary. Turns out, it's not necessary because once you load it with all your daily handbag-type stuff, since the bag is weighed down by the contents, the straps actually STAY on your shoulder and the bag doesn't fall off (like it normally has with past bags). Even more impressive is that this bag is both spacious and it doesn't look like I'm carrying everything but the kitchen sink in it. And, remember, with two small kids, it often FEELS like I'm carrying everything including the kitchen sink. Toddler undies, anyone? Suffice to say, this bag just about meets all of my daily handbag needs. Gorgeous, lightweight yet sturdy, stylish, perfectly-priced and FAIR TRADE! Thank you to the awesome proprietress, Susanne, who shared this bag with me. I only wish I bought it sooner.
